Modern Apprenticeship Week - Marc Allan Interview

4th March 2020

As its Modern Apprenticeship Week, we thought we would spend some time with our hard working apprentices who are doing a great job. We caught up with Marc Allan earlier this week to ask a few questions regarding his time at ACE as an Apprentice Draughtsperson:

Why did you choose a Modern Apprenticeship?

I chose a modern apprenticeship because it allows me to start training and learning in a real work environment gaining skills and experiences you might not get otherwise. It also allows me to work along with people who have been in the industry for a while, allowing me access to a huge level of support and knowledge with any questions I may have. It also allows me to work towards the necessary qualifications whilst learning  on the job and earning a wage.

What have you learned from your time at ACE?

During my time with ACE, I have learned lots of new things such as industry standards, weld symbols and different types of equipment and their role in the industry. Working alongside other employees who have been involved in the industry for some time creating and developing world leading concepts and solutions has also been rewarding. Because of ACE’s range of engineering capabilities which include front end engineering and design, I have gained a vast amount of knowledge in a short space of time, I’m sure there will be lots more to learn in the future.
