Launch and Recovery Systems (LARS)
The ACE Winches Launch and Recovery System (LARS) is a bespoke system featuring an umbilical winch and over boarding system integrated on a common base frame. The system is designed specifically for deploying and recovering a tethered powered object, such as a Dive Bell, ROV or other underwater vehicle.
The umbilical winch can be designed to suit the individual application, with slip rings or pressure-rated swivels as required to allow power to be transferred down the umbilical during deployment or recovery, and can be either hydraulically or electrically driven.
The over boarding system can be single or double pivoting A-frames, guide rails or even a knuckle boom crane, if required, and the handling system will be designed to suit the payload and application.
A full range of control systems is also available, ranging from basic manual control up to the fully automatic Active Heave Compensation system.
