Environmental Policy
ACE Winches' corporate philosophy is based upon mutually beneficial relationships with our business partners and neighbours. We acknowledge that environmental factors form an integral part of our business responsibilities. These factors enable us to demonstrate an ethical, effective and sustainable approach to our work.
ACE Winches recognises that provision must be made now to accommodate the needs of future generations. To do this, we need to continually develop our processes and services, obtain optimum return on expended resources and be pro-active and systematic in appraising our environmental performance.
Company Standard
In order to achieve this systematic appraisal and provide stakeholders with assurance that our stated commitments are being met and continually improved upon, we have adopted the principles and concepts of ISO 14001:2004 - the internationally recognised environmental management standard.
The requirements of this standard have been integrated into our business plan and our day-to-day work. Consequently, our environmental obligations have become a fundamental part of our culture and ethos.
Environmental Improvement Plan
Our objectives and targets for environmental performance are set out in our Environmental Improvement Plan. This Plan has been generated as the result of objective assessment of the impacts of ACE Winches' operations within our sphere of influence. The plan includes such measures as:
- Establishment of a legislative compliance and review regime
- Prevention of pollution
- Minimisation of material and energy usage
- Promotion of best practice
- Effective resource and waste management
- Development of environmental awareness of our workforce
- Minimising any adverse effects of our operations on our employees and the public
- Protection of the natural environment
- Encouragement of our business partners to adopt similar standards
- Review and assessment of the impacts of our operations in the light of legislative and technological change
