Over recent years, ACE Winches has been recognised formally by the industry and its peers by receiving a number of awards at both local and national level.  Winning the awards is testament to the hard work and commitment shown by ACE Winches' employees and reflects the desire and drive by the ACE Winches team as a whole to continually demonstrate excellence and quality throughout all aspects of its operations worldwide.

Institue of Directors Scotland - Director of the Year 2012

At the 8th IOD Director of the Year Awards held in Glasgow, Alfie Cheyne, CEO, was announced as the Aberdeen and Grampian Regional Director Winner.  The award recognises the successes of Scotland's business leaders and their efforts to drive forward innovation and growth for their organisation and the economy.

Offshore Achievement Awards 2012

ACE Winches was presented with two prestigious honours at the 2012 OAA ceremony.  For the second time, ACE won the Export Achievement Award for demonstrating a clear and thorough export strategy and planning process, identifying key export markets, achieveing a successful market entry strategy and capturing market share.  Also accepted by Alfie on behalf on ACE Winches was the Highly Commended Award for the Great Large Company category where judges looked for evidence of the company's success to date and plans for future growth both within the UK and internationally.

The cHeRrie Awards 2012

ACE Winches Human Resources Team have been selected as a finalist in the Tremendous Training and Development award category for The cHeRrie Awards 2012 recognising excellence in the fields of Human Resources, Training and Recruitment in the North East of Scotland.  The winner is to be announced on 7th June 2012.

The Grampian Awards for Business Enterprise 2012

ACE Winches has been announced as finalists in two categories for the 2012 awards.  The Alick Buchanan Smith Spirit of Enterprise Awards is presented for demonstrating a commitment to the community a company operates in while the Employer of the Year Award is presented to the organisation that can best demonstrate corporate success achieved through well-adopted company values.  The winners will be announced on 21st June 2012.

AGCC Northern Star Business Awards 2011

In 2011, ACE Winches was successfully shortlisted as a finalist for the Commitment to People Development Award for the Northern Star Business Awards.

Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2010

ACE Winches received the coveted Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2010. For the successful entry, ACE Winches was required to demonstrate the effects of the company’s activities and practices under several remits, including Impact on Society, Environmental Impact, Relations with Suppliers, Partners and Contractors, Relations with Employees and Relations with Customers – a declaration of corporate responsibility. The company views this prestigious award as being reflective of the company keeping faith with its people and roots, its passion for the subject matter and its ability to sustain strategic international growth.

Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year

Alfie Cheyne, CEO of ACE Winches was named Ernst & Young Scotland Entrepreneur of the Year 2010. The Entrepreneur of the Year award recognises the contribution of people who inspire others with their vision, leadership and achievement.

The Grampian Awards for Business Enterprise

ACE Winches won the Business Success (Over 3 years) award at the Grampian Awards for Business Enterprise 2010. The award is for the business that has achieved exceptional, sustainable organic growth in any market sector. ACE Winches’ outstanding ability to articulate a clear strategy for growth, with key performance indicators for its success to date, secured the winning trophy.

AGCC Northern Star Business Awards

ACE Winches was named winner of the Internationalisation Award for the Northern Star Business Awards 2010. The awards recognise companies who show great potential and promise for the future economic stability of not just the north east, but for the rest of the country.

Scottish Offshore Achievement Awards

The Export Achievement Award was awarded to ACE Winches in March 2010. The award recognises business growth resulting from successful development of export activity in the oil and gas sector. The judges look for evidence that businesses have instigated a clear and thorough export planning process, identified key export markets, achieved a successful market and captured a significant share of the market.

The Scottish Modern Apprenticeship Awards

ACE Winches was named the country’s top medium-sized employer in the 2009 Scottish Modern Apprenticeship Awards, underlining the importance the company places on training. The company may also offer full-time employment to participants on successful completion of the programme, with many having gone on to fulfil senior roles within the company.

The Grampian Awards for Business Enterprise

CEO, Alfie Cheyne was formally recognised for the continued success of ACE Winches at the 2009 Grampian Awards for Business Enterprise. He was named winner of the Entrepreneur of the Year award at the annual ceremony, organised by Enterprise North East Trust to celebrate business achievement and entrepreneurship.
